About Festival

Alan Hruska, director of Nola and The Warrior Class, returns with his new film, REUNION. The film concerns a group of smart and successful people, all members of a Yale secret society, who meet years after graduation to explore – and rationalize – who they have become.  As old wounds open and their dead friend’s secret is revealed, they learn the reality of the past and the reason love and happiness have eluded them.

The Production team

Highlights:

Matt Tauber – Producer, Kate Dean – Co-Producer, Yusuke Kamata – Associate Producer and Adam Spielberg – Unit Production Manager sat down for an hilarious read-through of pages from the script.  The scene takes place in a conference room, at a reunion of friends that met in college 25 years earlier and became “close” – (well, more than close –they all slept with the same woman.)  The producers had a great time on the set and there was much camaraderie.  And no fighting.  Little moments of tension, perhaps, but everything went surprisingly smooth in a low-budget, high-stress environment.  This video answers the question, “What do producers do?” in an unusual way.

Happenings:

All of the conference room scenes were shot on a soundstage in New York City.  It was a perfectly controlled environment.  Expert builders were contracted to create an impeccably life-like conference room in the center of what appears to be a huge warehouse.  The “conference room” had moveable walls and ceiling and a “view” of the Manhattan cityscape.  No need to worry about daylight, rain, wind, lights or where to fit the cameras---just take out a wall and keep shooting.
