Home, Home on the Page
Our loyal viewers might have noticed a change or two on the site in the last few days. Well I think it is high time we talk about. Really, you gotta get it out. Don’t let this kind of stuff go untalked about, it’ll just come up in therapy.
So we have made a few drastic changes to the homepage. After people tell us how much they love it they tend to tack on one of two responses:
1. Finally!
2. Why!?
Well to the first group I say, patience is a virtue. Get off my back. But to the second I thought a little musing on what the whole point of the change was.
FilmCatcher, like the rest of us, is on a journey. That journey is called life, yo. We’re all just up in the mix, learning, loving, trying out new things, changing our minds, getting arrested for possession of prescription pharmaceuticals. In short – living.
Over the last few years, FilmCatcher has noticed a waxing interest in our interviews and articles and a waning interest in the “store” aspect of the site. I totally get this. First off, the interviews are free, and who doesn’t like that? Second, we get the scoop! Remember when we broke that story about Harvey Weinstein eating Brad Grey at last year's Sundance? That’s reporting!
Our new design is meant to showcase and give access to our interviews. It is meant to show off our award winning writing and cross-bloogers. It's meant to give you, the FilmCatcher user, a platform to make your voice heard!
So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive and we hope you feel the same. Look for more changes to come over the next few months as FilmCatcher continues to change, to learn, to love, to live.
