Cakeeaters premiering at Woodstock

I just read that "The Cakeeaters" is going to premiere at the Woodstock Film Festival this October - and I can't be there! I hate that!

From the official press release:
"Filmed in the Hudson Valley during the summer of 2006, Mary Stuart Masterson's directorial debut THE CAKE EATERS explores the Kimbrough and Kaminski families, inextricably linked by love, death and betrayal. While Beagle (Aaron Stanford) deals with the return of his prodigal brother Guy (Jayce Bartok) upon their mother’s death, and his deepening relationship with terminally ill Georgia Kaminski (Kristen Stewart), his father Easy (Bruce Dern) must deal with his own indiscretions and their implications for his family and others.

Written by Bartok, the subtly powerful and grounded film features standout performances by both Stewart and Stanford. The film will screen as part of WFF’s FILMS OF THE HUDSON VALLEY program with Masterson and select cast & crew in attendance."

I know this movie is going to be absolutely amazing (hey, it has Aaron in it, right?) and I am so disappointed that I can't go, but maybe some of you out there will be able to make the trip and then write reviews so I can pretend I was there. I hope it doesn't take forever for this to come out on DVD! Or maybe even in theaters, if we get lucky.

Anyway, check out the festival website and think about supporting it any way you can, with money or volunteering: www.woodstockfilmfestival.com
