In Bruges

Review of In Bruges

Deja Vu, Anyone?

This film was mildly entertaining, and particularly strong in identifying with the audience and playing on our emotions. But, it did feel like the second coming of Cassandra's Dream - here's Collin Farrell, and he's just killed someone, he feels really guilty, wants to turn himself in, or do himself in, he is in love with a pretty girl, except Brendan Gleeson and Ewan McGregor have changed spots! The film was allright and somewhat entertaining. It really should have cut out the middle of the film and went from when Colin had his hit, to when Ralph Fiennes comes to town. Then it would have been a 30 minute movie and everyone would have been happy. It was a bit drawn out and boring in the middle of the film. Clemence Poesy and the supporting cast did a fine job, though. Just a so-so movie.
