blah, blah, blah movies for 2008...Don't know if this is ringing true with anyone else, but ALL of the movies that have come out this year, in 2008, are just BLAH! There's really no movie that has moved me, made me think harder, or more about the plot, the characters, etc., or even has had me go "I'm glad I paid $10 for THAT movie!". I think that Hollywood is just biding their time until the summer, and it's disappointing because I LOVE movies! Especially the independent movies! They have been HORRIBLE - Teeth, In Brugges, Cassandra's Dream, and more have been just a waste of gas. If I want to see something half hearted with stars in it, I'll catch a thousand of the rerun shows of the 80's that play on the WB in the afternoon on Sunday and save me some $$$. Hollywood - get us out of this RUT! Posted on 02/18/08 by: dougiejr3 1 Comments

that's crazy talk. it has been a weak year for major studio films, but anyone could see that coming from miles away. there have still been loads of good movies out this year. Margot's Wedding, The Savages, No Country for Old Men, Sunshine, Superbad, Rescue Dawn, Brand Upon the Brain, + the brilliant There Will be Blood were all very worthwhile theatre experiences i can think of off the top of my head.
outside of the theatre I tracked down plenty of wonderfully bizarre foreign offerings included Ex Drummer, Dead Daughters, L'Interieur, + Sukiyaki Western Django. watch those + get back to me about everything being BLAH.
