Review of TraitorTraitor? Who Cares?Once again, let down by such promise. This film looked like another version of "The Bourne Identity", but oh, does it fall with a thud! First we are introduced to Don Cheadle's charachter - who is born and growing up in the Sudan - then - bam! We fast forward several years and have found out that he has become Rambo - but is smart as well! The only thing from his past he retains is his religion, and faith. Two subjects that hardly anyone in Hollywood will touch these days - except Mel Gibson, or beginner filmmakers. Having a cast that includes Guy Pearce, and Jeff Daniels, Neal McDonough and even relative rising star, Said Taghmaoui, this film still couldn't be lifted off the ground to startle us, or get us interested in the story. The story drags through political diplomacy and doesn't involve enough explosions or gun shots - honestly. The terror plot, however, is interesting in understanding the complexities of how an operation gets organized. Yet, that is not enough to save this film - if I'm checking my watch 45 minutes into the movie - that's a bad sign. I checked my watch quite a few times during this film. Still a great way to use the Filmcatcher Free Ticket! Posted on 09/04/08 by: dougiejr3 Post a Comment
