Review of Michael ClaytonSteady But TrueA wonderful ensemble cast, and a teriffic script drive this legal thriller starring George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Sydney Pollack and Tom Wilkinson. All four deliver solid performances in this film about an Environmental Company, unorth, that has inadvertently done harm to thousands of people and caused deaths through their environment friendly campaign. The film centers on Clooney's character, Clayton, that is unorth's Fixer - whenever anything goes wrong, he's the man that gets called in to clean up the mess - politically. Things go awry when people assume power that they can't accurately wield and events are set in motion that will unravel the entire corporation. Mirrors quite effectively the nasty behind closed doors secrets that unraveled top companies such as Enron. Overall, a great screenplay from Gilroy, and a great first project (directed by Gilroy). The dialogue is top notch, and even though it is a slow pace, it moves along quite well. Posted on 10/09/07 by: dougiejr3 Post a Comment
