Review of The Last Temptation of Christ

What If?

As a Christian, myself, I might be a little biased towards this movie, but really don't understand why it came under so much fire when it was released! Marty directed a masterful tale, from Kazantzakis, that details the life of Christ. From His upbringing, to His 3 year mission, and ultimately in His death on the Cross. Unlike, The DaVinci Code, this film begs the question - "What if Christ had not died on the Cross for the sins of Mankind?" If any Christian group at all were to see this, it would not only strengthen their resolve, their faith, and possibly create some healthy dialogue between them and the lost. Overall, a beautifully directed movie, superb cast, and once again, a movie that challenges us to think - A+!
