Review of Reservation RoadReservation at 8:00Brilliant acting by all of the lead actors - Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Connelly, and Joaquin Phoenix. This film chronicles the loss of a child - and how painful and threatening it can be - when there is someone responsible for the death. Joaquin Phoenix turns in a memorable peformance for, what I can only guess are, the emotions going through the mind of a father who has lost his only son. Connelly, as the mother, is the stronger of the two - trudging her way through her grief in order to establish a new life pattern. Saw this at the Angelika Houston with my free Filmcatcher.com movie ticket. Have not been disappointed yet with Filmcatcher.com - it is an excellent resource for those wishing to explore the world of Independent Cinema. This movie, although sad throughout, is a showcase of acting talent among the leads. Was a little disappointed, though, in the acting of Elle Fanning (Dakota's sister), but realize it is unfair to hold one sister's acting ability up to another's. This movie also keeps me asking the question - "Why isn't Mira Sorvino in a lot of other movies?!" Posted on 11/04/07 by: dougiejr3 Post a Comment
