The Kite Runner

Review of The Kite Runner

Go Fly A Kite

A magnificent tale about friendship, family, love and redemption. Especially among so many non-actors and international actors, the story moves along rather well, due to the fine direction of Marc Forster. Have truly been impressed with Forster's last few offerings, Finding Neverland and Stranger Than Fiction. I have not read the novel, but intend to after seeing this great film. The cinematography was stellar, and the CG flights of the kites were spectacular! I really wasn't sure, going in, whether I would enjoy a movie that is mostly subtitled, but the acting was superb, probably due to the original languages being kept. All through, a great story about life, echoing the sentiment that it's never too late to stand up for someone else, to defend the helpless, there is a way to be good again.
