Review of ShampooWasted time...This film - written and directed and filmed by some of the greatest in Hollywood - flops. That's really all there is to say about it - it just lays there on the carpet, breathing until its last gasp, and flops. The best part of the film was Goldie Hawn - in her strikingly beautiful year of 30 - but really the rest of the film was dry and non engaging. I had wanted to see this film because of the AA it had won (Supporting Actress - Lee Grant), and because of Goldie, Warren, etc. but was sadly disappointed. The gleaming light of the movie, though, was a tale of morality - if sleeping with people is all you care about - because it makes you feel good, then in the end - everyone will have what they want - except for you. That is a true sentiment, and one that Hollywood has forgotten, perhaps. So, on that note - Mr. Beatty, bravo. Albeit having a sad ending doesn't do much for audiences looking to be wowed, surprised, and left with a sense of 'Yeah!'. Too bad, but not THAT bad. Posted on 09/04/08 by: dougiejr3 Post a Comment
