Review of Gone Baby Gone

Ben Affleck is better director than actor

In Ben Affleck's directorial debut two young private investigators work the hard knock streets of Boston looking for a missing 4 year old girl. Casey Affleck plays the lead detective alongside his girlfriend and business partner. As the investigation continues it pulls at their relationship and challenges it beyond the norm. This movie also stars Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris who both put up fantastic performances all the way around. Casey Affleck did steal the show, proving that he is a much better actor than his brother Ben. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and the dialogue was witty and edgy. Much kudos to Ben Affleck for directing a real winner. Truly Gone Baby Gone is 2007's 'The Departed". I hope he gets recognized for it at the next Academy Awards.
