I couldn't agree more re: the overrated portion of your statement. I had high hopes for this film and maybe that is the reason I didn't enjoy it...my expectations were too high. I think the performances were good. However, I think it lacked in the development of the story. The passion you see in the previews between the two main characters was completely under-developed in the movie. Although Kiera looked amazing in the green dress, she is disgustingly skinny. She's such a beautiful girl and would look even better with an extra 15-20 pounds. Also for McAvoy, I have to agree his performance was great!
