Review of The Diving Bell and the ButterflyExtraordinary filmmaking...As with the main character's condition, the viewer is "locked-in" into a really moving piece of filmmaking. As the viewer, you witness, and become Jean-Dominique and that really pushes you to try to see what he sees. Forces you really, because that is the only perspective you have in the film's entirety. The blurred gazes, the blinking, and all the other nuances package the intent of the experience of being trapped in a body. His mind is free to explore, imagine and dream.
