STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE:After winning the Oscar for 2003's The Fog Of War, director Errol Morris turns to Abu Ghraib prison for this documentary. Standard Operating Procedure uses two years of research to explore the horror behind the notorious photographs taken at the prison in Iraq and how the torture depicted wasn't an isolated incident. With the film, Morris examines the incidents of abuse and torture of suspected terrorists at the hands of U.S. forces. After being shuffled from one hotel suite to another we finally tucked into a fabulous conference room where, alas, our lighting options were quite grim. Emphatically told we had ten minutes to shoot, we elected to catch as much of Morris as we could, even with the dim wattage. As expected, he was as voluble as ever. --- CHECK OUT OUR EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH DIRECTOR ERROL MORRIS. Standard Operating Procedure opens Friday, April 25th in select cities.
