While many films have portrayed the negative ramifications of war, few will pack the visceral and emotional punch that Body of War delivers. The film puts a human face on the devastating consequences both physical and physiological of conflict.

Plot Summary

The contrast between the cookie cutter political rhetoric of the United States senators who ultimately decide the fates of those who will fight, and the simple wisdom and determination of Tomas Young—one of the many soldiers wounded, maimed, scarred, and battered in Iraq—is powerful and startling. Tomas’s journey, from his everyday physical and personal struggles as he copes with his disability to his cross-country crusade against the Iraq War, proves to be an inspiring and touching story, filmed with the kind of subtlety and grace that will no doubt have an impact on all who watch it.
